Finding a good, protective and sturdy phone case can be one of the hardest things to do when scouring the internet. Especially when they all promise to be the best and to help protect your phone from drops and other casualties. You want to make sure that your phone is protected, because they already cost a pretty penny, you don't need to spend even more on getting the screen replaced when it cracks.

When searching for the perfect case I always have to make sure that it is toddler friendly, meaning that it will protect my phone when my toddler has one of her I hate your phone tantrums and decides to throw it clear across the bedroom. Thank God for me we've only had a few of those and my phone has been safe, with no cracks :) One happy and relieved mommy here.
It can be hard to find a good case for me, because I always want cute cases. Not just a bland color or ugly bulky ones. I have the Samsung Galaxy Edge 7 and it's already big as it is, without a case. So when I saw how pretty all of the Speck phone cases were I was excited, not only because of the fun prints but because they were not bulky looking and still promised great protection on drops.
I was sent the CandyShell Clear with Glitter in the Onyx/Gold Glitter color and yes it is glittery and oh so pretty. The glitter is not the kind that scratches off or comes off, it is also not slippery at all and feels like a hard and sturdy rubberized case, which I love.When looking for a case, I always make sure that it is rubberized so that it doesn't slip easily from my hands when they get sweaty or just in general, plus it's great for little hands. Love that the Speck logo is engraved into the case and is not really noticeable, that it doesn't take away from the design.
This case is definitely designed for impact.
It offers raised bezel for screen protection impact. That can be hard to find since the phone is an edge and it has the curved screen but the Speck case has protected it perfectly. I can be clumsy and always end up throwing my floor or it always finds itself sliding away from my hand and this Speck case has protected it perfectly.
Love that it is also scratch resistant. Just look at the back, it looks brand new and you wouldn't guess by looking at it that it has already dropped to the ground more than handful of times. The case looks intact and the glitter still so glittery and perfect.
Now for the screen, it helps that the case has the raised bezel but I always make sure to add some sort of tempered glass to the screen for extra protection. My phone has landed flat faced to the ground and I do believe that the Speck case has protected it perfectly, when it falls due to the screen not really touching the ground thanks to the raised bezel that offers the extra screen protection.

I am always shocked when I see someone putting a $400 phone in a cheap $9.99 plastic fashion case. I want to shake them and yell THERE ARE BETTER THINGS OUT THERE! lol

DeleteOh man I need to look into this for my son because he is so famous for having his screen broken all the time. This last time my youngest took his phone and decided to do make believe pitcher.. yup didn't end well. So I will most def be checking this out.

DeleteI keep changing my phone cases, but the last one I got was a nice transparent one for my iPhone and it is thin and sleek. I love it. Not great for when it gets into my toddlers hands but is anything ever safe that they get a hold of? LOL.

DeleteI know that a good cell phone case is a must now that phones are $700 plus AND that insurance isn't as helpful as you might think.
ReplyDeleteInsurance is bad and not worth it in my opinion ion, you just pay and they don't really help. I prefer a good sturdy case
DeleteIt is always best to pay more for a case, especially if you have a phone made of glass like I-phones. If you are clumsy like me then it will break.

DeleteOh I always have my phone in a case! My personal preference is for the rubbery kind because phones are SO slim these days I feel like they are gonna slip right outta my hands!

ReplyDeleteSpeck is an awesome brand. I've had some of their cases and they're really durable and reliable too. I like that they have more designs now as well! This is definitely perfect for moms who have toddlers that get their phones all the time.
